Connect with your creativity
Connect with your body
Art for healing and expression
Want to use art to heal your relationship with body image?
Maybe you’re sick of therapy always feeling like “serious work”?
Are you ready to find your creative spark?
When many people experience trauma (especially when we’re young), it can unknowingly stop us from tapping into our creativity and can cause us to leave pieces of ourself behind.
So many clients who do deep healing, find that creative play is what they were desiring.
Art has always been a means of self-expression, but it can also be a means of self-discovery and healing.
Letting yourself surrender to the work of art that is yourself and allowing that to be expressed and seen by the world is powerful healing.
If you’re ready to discover yourself in a new way, we invite you to join our Watercolour Group.
This group is co-led by Lana the therapist and Mikaela Perry the watercolor expert!
They’ll guide you through the important basics of watercolor as a means for creative expression and integrating parts of the self that might have been left behind.
In this workshop we will:
use watercolor as a means to connect with our body and creative process
focus on healing wounds around body image
use therapeutic art techniques to help you grow more confident in your self-expression
Through this group we guide you to tap back into the idea of play and fun. Art can fill the space that pain and trauma used to occupy. This gives you a new way of expressing yourself to write a new narrative for your life!
This group will be led by Lana Penn and the talented visual artist Mikaela Perry.
Informed by her upbringing as a fifth-generation farmer (currently living in NYC), Mikaela uses her art to explore deeper themes behind the image. An overall theme of her art is the question “What brings you home?”
This use of art to tell a story has helped her use art to explore body image and expression through creativity.
